This section includes different kinds of art. Most of them were done in my free time.
For our stop-motion trailer of Notice Me Detective I have created the very simple set where it'd take place and the characters as paper toys.
Info: This work was done by two people. My friend painted using a straw and blowing paint on the paper, and the I had to do think creative with it afterwards.
Comments: I could not concentrate when I was working on this. You know why? Because all I could see was bugs and creatures and animals. So I decided to literally show on paper, what my imagination saw. I'm not sure I'd do well in Rorschach's test.
Dead and Alive
Info: Dead and Alive is a tree. Or two. The one represents life and health, and the other death and destruction. This was originally a paper bag and I wanted to do something creative with it. Nothing from the bag was gone to waste. The trees are the bag cut, bent, painted, burned.
Comments: I love contrasts, opposites, death and life. The paper bag reminded me of what paper is made of and I decided to take it back to its original form.
Info: This is a mini crime scene with a story. I had in my possession some corrugated paper. A pink one.
Comments: I love this crime scene. It has a story to it, which your can think about yourself or search around my portfolio and find it! The process of my thoughts for this one was strange. It started with: soaking the paper in water gives a nice purple-pink color. Also phenolphthalein is used to reveal hemoglobin in the blood, producing a pink color. But who would do that if not a crime scene investigator? Hmm...
And that's how the crime scene was born.
Info: This engraving represents a bird flying out of broken bars.
Comments: That day I reread "The Ballad of Reading Gaol" by Oscar Wilde and so that's where I was inspired from. I really liked making this, engraving is so relaxing and satisfying that I needed to make the bird feel the same.
Map to the Triangle
Info: This was a project where, as a team at my University, had to draw "our feelings" on a piece of paper to a music clip that was playing in the class. After that we had to make a story out of whatever we drew and make a small play. When we finished that, each member of the team had to cut a piece from the paper and make something with it.
Comments: This piece of work was me acting out our play. I literally wrote the plot of our ridiculous story on the paper and folded it the way a map folds (because a map had relevance to our story).
To read it one must open the first layer and read the first part of the story (2nd picture). Then in order to read the second part, one must open it entirely and read only the sentences in the middle. (3rd picture)
Info: A painted paper and some crafting results, in my opinion as it seems, to Alice in Wonderland.
Comments: The black, red and white colors reminded me of Alice's dress in Wonderland, in Tim Burton's movie. So I thought I'd craft this into a dress and make Alice. I also made her head a bit bigger than her legs to reference the "Eat me" - get bigger and "Drink me" - get smaller.
Info: After wandering in the woods, examining parts of the environment and picking up stuff, I used everything I had picked upt to make something creative.
Circle of life
Info: This was done in a day. I used everything I found in the woods and recreated a mini concept of a tree and it's surroundings.
Comments: For this one I had thought that I'd like to see the circle of life of a tree happening in front of my eyes. Maybe what I did wasn't as much of a circle as it was linear, but still after time, I could see the leafs dying and some falling, and the grass becoming yellow. I loved making every detail on this: the grass under the cork, the bugs living together under it, snails wandering everywhere, a fallen pine cone, dirt around the corks, bugs walking on the branches of the tree, the breathing moss, etc. The moss died quite easily but after pouring to it some water in sprang to life again - I kept pouring water for a year!
Info: These hand drawings were made just for fun.
Info: Just various creations.
One mas has been robbed in an alley and stabbed. He's left to die...but he's not dead yet. He stumbles through the alley to the dark, narrow street, the blood dripping from his wounds, to his feet, to the ground...he reaches for his cell phone but his knees give up. Falling on the ground he exhales one last breath. A drunk driver didn't see him lying there, didn't stop, didn't care. In the morning his body was found...
